This Privacy Policy explains how FloatText (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the FloatText mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- User Content: scripts/text you type, paste, or import into the app.
- Support communications: content of emails you send to app@floattext.com (and any attachments you choose to include).
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device & app information: device model, OS version, app version, language/region settings, time zone.
- Diagnostics & performance data: crash logs, performance metrics, and troubleshooting data (via Firebase and/or TalkingData).
- Usage analytics: interactions such as feature usage, screens viewed, and session information (via Firebase and/or TalkingData).
1.3 Advertising data (Free version)
The free version displays ads via Google AdMob. Depending on your settings and permissions, AdMob may collect and process information such as device identifiers, approximate location (derived from IP), and ad interaction data to deliver ads and measure performance.
1.4 Purchases & subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive purchase/subscription status (e.g., whether you have an active subscription) to unlock premium features.
2. App Tracking Transparency (ATT) and IDFA
On iOS, we may request permission under App Tracking Transparency (ATT). If you allow tracking, the Service may access Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to support personalized ads and/or ad measurement (e.g., attribution). If you decline, we will not access IDFA for tracking, and ads may be less relevant.
3. Permissions You May Grant
Depending on how you use the Service, you may be asked to grant device permissions. You can control these at any time in iOS Settings.
- Camera: to record videos within the app.
- Microphone: to capture audio during recording and enable voice-related features (where available).
- Photos / Media Library: to save exported videos or manage saved recordings, if you choose.
- Speech Recognition (if enabled): to support voice-related experiences where applicable.
